4th Royal Eltham

Jack Petchey Trust award 2016

Every year the Jack Petchey Trust awards medals to young people who have made an outstanding achievement in their community.

Our nomination for the Jack Petchey  award was Florenza Meldrum, she is

11 years old and is the youngest of 3 Meldrum's to pass through the group.

She joined the 4th Royal Eltham  Cubs at 8, became 2nder, then 6er and went up to Scouts to join her brothers. During her time with us she has attended almost all of the Groups activities, gained all the challenge badges, the silver award, 10 nights away badge and 20 activity badges.

She actively recruited new members having gained a scarf full of Bring a friend Badges. She has attended many Scout Camps including Beaudesert Scout Camp in Staffordshire. Most importantly for us she recruited her mother to become assistant cub scout leader.

She received her medal from the County Commissioner at a ceremony at Lewisham Theatre along with 100 other young scouts from South London.

The group also received a cheque for £200 which was used to fund a trip to Alton Towers. Well done Flo !
